With spring comes a new season of Logan-Magnolia golf, and the Panthers are excited for their season to begin on Saturday, April 14.

The season looks bright for the Panthers as new head coach Dan Thompson looks to make a statement this year.

“I am excited for the year,” Thompson said. “We have returning players on both the girls and boys side, along with many newcomers who will help us out for sure.”

The Panthers lost five seniors last season, but are bringing back letterwinners Rachel Pitt, Elizabeth Roden, Jaice Johnson, Abby Godden, Joel Richardson, Bo Geise and Tanner Stevens.

Richardson, a junior, had an average nine-hole score of 39.50 in the 2016-17 season, improving from his average of 47.00 during the 2015-16 season.

Pitt, a junior, had an average nine-hole score of 60.52 from the 2016-17 season, improving from her 64.50 average during the 2015-16 season.

Roden, a junior, had an average nine-hole score of 63.63 from the 2016-17 season, improving from her 68.75 average from the 2015-16 season.

Johnson, a sophomore, is looking to improve from her first season last year, which had an average nine-hole score of 62.89.

As the snow melts and the grass greens, the Panthers prepare for their upcoming season, looking to build on the success of last year and returning talent.
