Donald W. Cooper, age 72, of Logan, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Donald was born September 29, 1946 in Pisgah, Iowa, to Wayne and Lois (Withem) Cooper. He attended Woodbine School in Woodbine, Iowa.
He married Cheri Martin on September 26, 1965 in Logan, Iowa. Throughout his life, he farmed for many years, enjoyed raising livestock. He worked at Leaders in Dunlap, Iowa, and he owned and operated Cooper’s Tires in Logan, Iowa.
Donald enjoyed working on tractors, playing pool, making car and motorcycle trailers and loved attending auctions, especially farm auctions. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Logan for a few years, too.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cheri.
He is survived by his son, Larry Cooper of Michigan; his daughter, Angela Rathbun and husband James of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren; Brianna Cooper; Owen Cooper; Isabella Cooper; Morgan Rathbun; Bree Ann Rathbun and James Rathbun II; and great grandchildren: Ares Rathbun and Cager J. Thornton.
Visitation with family was Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Logan Memorial Chapel, Logan, Iowa. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Logan Memorial Chapel. Officiating was Pastor Randy Williams.
Musical Selections included “I Don’t Want This Night to End”, “Grandpa, Tell ‘Bout the Good Old Days”, and “Daddy’s Hands."
Casket bearers were James Rathbun II, Joe Schaferm, James Rathbun, Booby Allen, Scott Krajicek and Gary Mefferd.
Final resting place is the Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, Iowa.
