OMAHA, NEB. -- Mrs. Dieatrick's and Mrs. Assman's first grade classes at the Woodbine School District recently took their first grade trip to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.
In the days leading up to the trip, the kids talked with their teachers about what animals they wanted to see the most.
"We have also been working on an ocean research paper, so it was neat to see the animal the kids have chosen up close," said Kelsey Assman.
Assman said the students really enjoyed seeing the tigers and the new Asian exhibit.
They also loved being in with the birds at the new petting zoo area next to the playground.
